Before you let someone work on the most expensive machine in your house, you should know who they are. Here’s who we are. Harmony Air is a service-disabled, veteran-owned HVAC company in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and we fix, replace, and maintain air conditioning across the Treasure Coast.
I’m Jonathan Harmon, but most people call me JD. I started Harmony Air in March 2023, and I still answer the phone and run service calls myself. When you call, you’re one call away from the owner.
How I learned the trade
My dad got me into this trade. He taught me what I know. If something I built wasn’t up to his standard, he made me take it apart and do it again. This company would not be here without him.
In the Army, I was an air conditioning technician, a 91C. When I got out, I joined the local union in West Palm Beach and went through a five-year apprenticeship. I worked as a journeyman on large commercial systems. Then I worked my way up to service manager for a major union HVAC company. I also taught at the apprenticeship training school, on advanced commercial equipment.
We’re still a growing company. The hands behind it have been doing this work for more than 15 years.
Why our technicians don’t work on commission
In a lot of companies, the tech makes more when you buy more. I don’t want anybody standing in your driveway with a reason to sell you something you don’t need.
So nobody here is paid on commission. When we tell you what your system needs, that’s what it needs. The long version is on our commission page.
I’m not cheap. I’m affordable, and there is a difference. Cheap is working for quantity. Affordable is working for quality. I can’t promise to beat every price, because cutting price means cutting corners.
We look for the real problem, not the expensive one
If a repair will hold, we tell you. If it’s time to replace, you get both numbers, repair and replacement, and you decide.
In early 2024, a customer asked me if their 20-ton Trane rooftop unit from 2001 was worth saving. It was only a fan motor. We saved it.
Why a veteran-owned HVAC company in Port St. Lucie stands behind its work
Every residential AC installation comes with a 2-year labor warranty. Most companies around here give you one year. Your new equipment also carries the manufacturer’s 10-year parts warranty.
That’s how I was trained in the Army. You do the job right, and you stand behind it. If we touched it, we own it.
We’re human, and mistakes happen. When one does, it’s on us to catch it and fix it fast, and to tell you what went wrong. You can always reach me directly.
Most of the work is AC, but not all of it
We handle AC repair, replacement, and maintenance for homes and light commercial buildings. That includes emergency service, heat pumps, ductless mini splits, ductwork, thermostats, indoor air quality, and rooftop units. We also do new construction and install tankless water heaters.
We take calls 24/7. Sundays and holidays are billed at double time.
